About Algarve Biofarm
A living farm experience in the Algarve countryside, near Paderne — built on plants, animals, sustainable farming, creativity, and the people who visit us.
Algarve Biofarm is part of Quinta Vermelha de Alcaria, a working estate with roots going back to 1800. Today it is a small, inclusive countryside experience — aloe vera and aromatic gardens, a few beloved animals, handmade products, creative evenings and places to stay.
Not a park. A real place.
We are not a visitor attraction or a themed garden. Algarve Biofarm is a real, working farm near Paderne where aloe vera and aromatic plants are grown, animals are cared for, and products are made by hand. Guests are welcomed into that rhythm, not performed at.
That's why our experiences are small, unhurried and shaped by what's happening in the gardens that week.
Sustainable, inclusive, kind
Three things guide how we run the farm: sustainable farming of aloe, aromatics and the wider estate; inclusive, disabled-friendly access so that as many people as possible can enjoy the land; and a kind, unhurried welcome to every guest — whether they come for an afternoon, a dinner, a workshop or a whole week.
We'd rather host a small number of people well than crowd the farm.
Something to take with you
Most guests leave with more than photos. A small jar of aloe gel. A handful of dried aromatics. A painting. A recipe scribbled on a napkin. A quieter nervous system. A reminder that there are still places where time slows down and plants matter.
That's what we're trying to grow here — alongside the plants.
